The newer model, the Zap It, the light is on all the time otherwise you flip it off & have to show it on manually when you go looking for the little black bugs which might be driving you loopy. Perhaps mine is defective however I do not like that feature. I both have leave it on all day & drain the battery or I should take the time to turn it on & then strive to search out the black critter that has been driving me crazy. The description says "Press the activation button on your bug zapper racket, and an indicator gentle glows" I have tried it a number of instances & there isn't a mild glowing. I purchased 2 of them & will strive the other one at the moment to see if maybe the first one I opened might be defective. If the light does not keep on all the time on the 2nd one that may verify the 1st one is defective. If the 2nd one stays on on a regular basis then I will know that they're each probably going back as a result of I do not like leaving the sunshine on all the time. Ok, I've now tried each of the new ones & just bought & neither one has an indicator mild that flows once you press the activation button & the LED gentle stays on on a regular basis. My outdated one the sunshine solely comes on whenever you press the activation button. So, my opinion is this zapper took a step backwards in terms of efficiency from the previous model. The outline on the web site is unsuitable & it is certainly not as described. Waste of money! Add insult to damage & this merchandise is non returnable & there may be nothing listed on the Amazon web site.
