The newer model, the Zap It, the sunshine is on all the time or you flip it off & have to turn it on manually while you go hunting for the little black bugs which might be driving you crazy. Perhaps mine is defective however I don't like that function. I both have go away it on all day & drain the battery or I have to take the time to show it on & then attempt to search out the black critter that has been driving me crazy. The description says "Press the activation button on your bug zapper racket, and an indicator mild glows" I've tried it a number of instances & there isn't any mild glowing. I bought 2 of them & will strive the opposite one at the moment to see if maybe the 1st one I opened is likely to be defective. If the light would not keep on all the time on the 2nd one that will confirm the first one is defective. If the 2nd one stays on on a regular basis then I will know that they are both probably going again as a result of I do not like leaving the light on on a regular basis. Ok, I've now tried each of the new ones & just received & neither one has an indicator gentle that flows if you press the activation button & the LED gentle stays on on a regular basis. My outdated one the sunshine only comes on whenever you press the activation button. So, my opinion is that this zapper took a step backwards by way of performance from the earlier model. The outline on the web site is fallacious & it is certainly not as described. Waste of cash! Add insult to damage & this item is non returnable & there's nothing listed on the Amazon webpage.
